Free Post : My Boys!!
I LOVE this peice of architecture
The art of this culture: American Farmer
My Photographic Eye
Ok, so I have to admit that I have used THIS post to show off MY BEAUTIFUL TRUCK!!
My photographic eye: 5 photographs, 1 theme:
Art and Human Behavior (psyche)
As soon as I saw this assignment it made me think of this picture! Because psyche is just another word for one's inner strength, and although you may only be kitty cat, you can have the inner strength of a fierce lion!!
Also, it's not just a matter of being strong or powerful, it's what you do with that strength and power.

On the Grafiti Beat
In class we learned that grafiti is either a way to get one's name seen (tagging) or an expression of personal beliefs. The grafiti I have listed I interperet to be spitiual and or political. The woman above is looking down on chaos. This could be spiritual with the woman representing a higher being looking lovingly on creation and it lively chaos. Or, it could be political with the woman representing the government or the upper class looking down on the lower classes struggling to survive.
Either way, it's a very interesting peice of FOLK artwork!

My right brain, My left brain
Right brain: creative
left brain: logical
everyone uses both sides of their brain, but we tend to use one more than the other.
the first website listed below details an activity in which we see "our other self".
Try it out, it is very interesting!

The below link provides a test to show which side of your brain you use most. I am left brained. I answered 7 questions right(brain) and 11 left(brain).

The dancer below either spins clockwise or counter-clockwise
clockwise = right brain
counter = left brain
This Music Video is Art
I know it's not conventional, but I think it's art. It embraces the American dream, and addresses the desire to better one's self...just in a funny way.
I like the way they show very different people singing the song, that demonstrates the universality of the song.

Why am I alone here? I didn't ask to be alone
I'm afraid to be alone
Why won't you look at me? Have I upset you?
I'm afraid to be alone
Why won't you touch me? Have I done something?
I'm afraid to be alone
Where are they taking me? Why don't you want me?!
I'm afraid to be alone
Why are those children with you? Why am I not?
I'm afraid to be alone
Who are these people? They say I am chosen to be their own
but i'm not theirs
I'm afraid to be alone
Who are these people? They say call us mom and dad
but they aren't
I'm afraid to be alone
I am alone
I belong with no one
abandoned by my mother
embraced by another
I am alone
I walk alone
Thanks "mother"

Art and Human Nature
The pictures in this blog represent parts of human nature.
1) blame: the first reaction in a crisis situation is to place blame (and never in one's self)
Art and the Human Struggle
The pictures below are from the Great depression. They represent the struggle that we are in today. We each fight for our food, fight for our right to live. The system of supply and demand is killing us, but I guess we're over populated.
Family is all we have. We have to take care of each other, or we all lose.
